Agenda Items
Chairperson Dale reviewed the facility options previously considered by the Committee. She stated the
Northern Fence property and the current Spruce Street facility did not appear to fit the County's needs.
She added that the County Board would prefer recommendation of a single site.

Dave Carpenter presented an analysis of all sites considered by the Committee at the previous meeting.
He reminded the Committee that the Spruce Street facility was intended to be a temporary location, a fact
so noted in City records. He also reported on background reports provided by the Health Department and
Building Inspector for all sites under consideration. Carpenter concurred with the Chairperson's
suggestion regarding the most appropriate site.

Tim Dolehanty reviewed the comments of U.P. Veterinarian Specialist Dr. Michael Brenner who
conducts shelter inspections on behalf of the State. Dolehanty distributed information provided by
Dr. Brenner relative to shelter space requirements.

The Committee agreed to recommend that the Board of Commissioners purchase the property and
building located at 263 W. Three Mile Road as the permanent site for the Chippewa County Animal
Shelter.

Adjourn
Hearing no other comments, Chairperson Dale declared the meeting adjourned at 3:00 p.m.
