BUDGET WORK SESSION MEETING MINUTES
A budget work session of the Chippewa
County Board of Commissioners was held on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at the
Chippewa County Courthouse in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Finance Chair Dale called the meeting to
order at 7:00 p.m. with a quorum present.

Elizabeth Church, Sheriff Jeff Moran, Undersheriff Robert Savoie, Julie, Beck,
Marlene and Ken Murphy, Sault Tribal Judge Kandra Robbins, and Jen Miller
FY 2005 Budget Presentation:
Probate/Family Court
The Board reviewed two budgets related to Chippewa County’s 50th
Circuit Court Family/Probate Court. Fund presented by Judge Lowell Ulrich, Fund 132
– Juvenile Court and Fund 148 Probate Court. Between the
two budgets the target of
scenario B was reached. Items discussed
were that of the attorney contracts, video conferencing and the unpredictable
Child Care Fund. The Court strives to
keep youth in the home and community.
Public
Defender
Elizabeth Church presented the Board
with the FY05 Budget request. Topics
discussed included conflict cases, case load, Department of Corrections cases,
revenue, FY05 contracts with the Sault Tribe and Jennifer Miller. Also, checking the roster of possible errors
in wages.
Sheriff Department
Sheriff Jeff Moran presented the
Board with his FY05 Budget requests.
Items discussed were personnel replacement, mandated services,
justification
