WORK SESSION MEETING MINUTES

 

September 29, 2004

 

A special work session of the Chippewa County Board of Commissioners was held on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at the Chippewa County Courthouse in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.  Chairman Kay called the meeting to order at 5:12 p.m. with a quorum present.

 

MEMBERS PRESENT:       Earl Kay, Chairman, Aaron Hopper, Rita Dale, Don Cooper, Ted Postula, and James Moore

 

MEMBERS ABSENT:         Richard Timmer

 

OTHERS PRESENT:            Tim Dolehanty, County Controller, Kelly Beaune, Assistant to the Controller,  Marilyn McDonald, Treasurer, Diane Cork, Clerk, Sharon Kennedy, Equalization Director/Register of Deed, Jim Lucas, MSU Co-op Extension, Julie Beck, Assistant Public Defender

 

 

Additions / Deletions to the Agenda

Chairman Kay called for changes to the agenda.  No changes were offered.

 

It was moved by Commissioner Postula, seconded by Commissioner Hopper, to approve the agenda as presented.  On a voice vote, the motion was CARRIED.

 

Agenda Item: 2005 Budget

Controller Dolehanty gave an overview of the 2005 Budget, highlighting what the Board of Commissioners can expect to see and what to look for when the 2005 Budget requests are completed.  He covered the General Fund Budget, General Fund Actual Expenditures, Department Rosters, Analysis Tables and Graphs regarding the 2005 Budget. 

 

Discussion regarding deadlines and budget hearing meetings were discussed; a deadline of Friday, October 15, 2004 was established for the Departments and Agencies to have the 2005 Budget proposals completed.  Tentative budget hearing dates were establish as October 19, 20 and 21, 2004.

 

Commission Comments

There were no additional comments from the Commission.

 

Chairman’s Comments

Chairperson Kay had no additional comments.

 

Adjourn

It was moved by Commissioner Moore, seconded by Commissioner Hopper, to adjourn the meeting.  On a voice vote, the motion was CARRIED.
