MEETING MINUTES

February 17, 2005

A regular meeting of the Chippewa County Board of Commissioners’ Legislative and Natural Resources Committee was held on Thursday, February 17, 2005 at the Chippewa County Courthouse in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Chairperson Richard Timmer called the meeting to order at 1:30 p.m. with a quorum present.

MEMBERS PRESENT: Richard Timmer, Chairman, Earl Kay and Scott Shackleton (2:00 p.m.)

MEMBERS ABSENT: None

OTHERS PRESENT: John Katona, Chris Katona, MMRMA Representatives; Bruce Maynard,

Daric Feldpausch, Michael Taylor, Accident Fund Representatives, Kelly Beaune, Recorder

Agenda Item: Accident Fund Presentation for Workers Compensation

The Committee received a presentation from staff of the Accident Fund Group; topics discussed included online services, claims, Accident Funds mission statement, cost savings, year end dividends and an overall review of the company. Questions were asked regarding premium increases in the next years, why the Accident Fund Group is now so competitive as compared to years past. No action was taken on this item.

Commissioner Kay, supported by Commissioner Shackleton, moved to adjourn the meeting. On a voice vote the motion CARRIED.

Chairman Timmer declared the meeting adjourned at 2:40 p.m.
