Also Present: Kelly
Beaune, Acting Controller, Jim Vanderlay, Northern Restoration &
Waterproofing, and Diane Cork, Clerk
It was moved by Commissioner Shackleton, supported by
CommissionerTimmer, to take from the table the motion of
Jim Vanderlay, President, Northern Restoration &
Waterproofing, answered questions re:
paint –vs- stain, brick repair work, stripping, warranty and time frames
for repair and water damage.
Mr. Vanderlay explained at the time of the original bid the
County wanted the building painted so that the many different colored bricks
would match. Stripping would not be cost
effective. He explained that he thought
the damaged being done to the bricks/paint was due to water coming off the roof
and perhaps by installing a drip edge, the problem would be alleviated.
It was moved by Commissioner Shackleton,
supported by Commissioner Postula, to accept the bid
from Northern Restoration & Waterproofing in the amount of $8,400 for the
repair of the two northern most westside elevations of
the Courthouse Annex. On a voice vote,
the motion carried with Commissioner Cooper voting no.
It was moved by Commissioner Moore, supported by
Commissioner Timmer, to adjourn. On a voice vote, the motion carried
unanimously and the Board did adjourn at
Respectfully submitted,
Diane S. Cork, Clerk
Earl Kay, Chairman
