LEGISLATIVE AND NATURAL RESOURCES COMMITTEE

MEETING MINUTES

August 16, 2006

 

A regular meeting of the Chippewa County Board of Commissioners’ Legislative and Natural Resources Committee was held on Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at the Chippewa County Courthouse in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.  Chairperson Richard Timmer called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. with a quorum present.

 

MEMBERS PRESENT:      Richard Timmer, Chairman (by telephone), Scott Shackleton

 

MEMBERS ABSENT:        Earl Kay

 

OTHERS PRESENT:          Bernie LaJoie, Kelly Beaune, Recorder

 

 

Additions/Deletions to the Agenda

Chairman Timmer called for additions or deletions to the agenda.  It was moved by Commissioner Shackleton, seconded by Commissioner Timmer to approve the agenda as presented.   On a voice vote, the motion carried.

 

Public Comments

Chairman Timmer called for public comments.  No public comments were offered.

 

Bruce Township Master Plan

The Committee reviewed a copy of Bruce Township’s proposed master plan as comments need to be submitted to Bruce Township within 95 days of receiving the document.  The County is acting as an advisory only and does not need to approve the plan per PA 263 of 2001 Township Planning Act. 

 

It was moved by Commissioner Shackleton, supported by Commissioner Timmer, to accept the Bruce Township Master Plan as presented, and to send correspondence indicating that the document was a well written and positive outlook for the Township, with the County having no additional comments or suggestions.  On a voice vote, the motion CARRIED.

Adjourn

Commissioner Shackleton, supported by Commissioner Timmer, moved to adjourn the meeting.  On a voice vote the motion CARRIED.

 

Chairman Timmer declared the meeting adjourned at 4:10 p.m.
