The purpose of the Public Hearing was to accept public comment on the 2006 MSHDA Homebuyer Purchase Rehabilitation (HPR) Application.

Tony Bosbous, Community Action Agency, explained that Chippewa County is applying for up to $250,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds to provide down payment assistance and/or rehabilitation funds for first time homeowners for income eligible households.  This would not include construction of new homes and applicants must buy or renovate within designated neighborhoods within the City of Sault Ste. Marie.

It was noted that this was a two (2) year project with a lien placed on the property with repayment upon the sale of the home.

Hearing no public Comments, Chairman Kay declared the Public Hearing closed at 5:11 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Diane S. Cork, Clerk                                                              Earl Kay, Chairman
