WORK SESSION MEETING MINUTES

September 18, 2006

A work session of the Chippewa County Board of Commissioners was held on Monday, September 18, 2006 at the City/County Building in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan with the City of Sault Ste. Marie Commissioners’. Chairman Kay called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. with a quorum present.

MEMBERS PRESENT: Earl Kay, Bernie LaJoie, Jim Moore, Don Cooper, Scott Shackleton and Ted Postula

MEMBERS ABSENT: Richard Timmer

OTHERS PRESENT: Tim McGuire, Brad Comment, Flo McCormick and Kelly Beaune, Recorder

Agenda Item: Michigan Association of Counties

Michigan Association of Counties representatives Tim McGuire, Brad Comment and Flo McCormick were here to update the Commission on what MAC has been doing. Discussion included the Legislative update on the SOS proposal, the K-16 (12) proposal, revenue sharing, Service Corporation refunds, and a new Grant Services Program offered by MAC. Questions regarding Revenue sharing, personal property taxes were discussed at length.
