WORK SESSION MEETING MINUTES

 

October 10, 2007

 

 

A work session of the Chippewa County Board of Commissioners was held on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at the Chippewa County Courthouse in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Chairman Kay called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. with a quorum present.

 

MEMBERS PRESENT:         Earl Kay, Bernie LaJoie, Jim Moore, Don Cooper, Scott Shackleton and Richard Timmer

 

MEMBERS ABSENT:           Ted Postula

 

OTHERS PRESENT:             Diane Cork, Debbie Sirk, Chris McLean, Kathy Munson, Derek Myerscough, Marilyn McDonald and Kelly Beaune, Recorder

 

Additions / Deletions to the Agenda

Chairman Kay called for additions or deletions to the agenda. 

 

It was moved by Commissioner LaJoie, seconded by Commissioner Timmer, to approve the agenda as presented.  On a voice vote, the motion was CARRIED.

 

Agenda Item: Administrator Applications

The Board met to discuss and select the candidates for the County Administrator position.  The Board discussed the applicant’s confidentiality, and chose to number the applications giving them a certain degree of privacy.  Brief discussions were held and then the Commissioners turned in their selections that were tallied by and confirmed by Kelly Beaune and Marilyn McDonald.  The top eight applications will be considered for the next step in the Administrator search.  An Application of Employment and a release for information will be forwarded to the eight applicants so that back ground checks may be completed.  None of the twenty-six applications have been eliminated from the process.
