Chippewa County News

After more than a two-month long limited/restricted buildings shutdown, Chippewa County officials have reopened the County Building, Courthouse and Animal Shelter as of June 2, 2020, though with pre-entrance procedure requirements from visitors, including a mandatory health screening questionnaire and temperature check (Click here for questionnaire).

All visitors are requested to follow the State of Michigan Executive Order 2020-70 regarding masks and to adhere to physical distancing guidelines to allow at least six feet between you and all other persons (outside of your household).  Building security will also restrict the number of people admitted to each department.  We strongly encourage citizens to first check with our departments to see if some or all of your business can be handled using resources available online or over the phone before making a visit.  A list of all county departments is available for easy reference (Click here)

For detailed information on the county’s reopening, please refer to the full Chippewa County COVID-19 Preparedness and Response Plan (Click here).
