The Department of Veterans Affairs was established by the Chippewa County Board of Commissioners pursuant to the provisions of Public Acts 192 of the Public Act of 1953, effective April l, 1990.  The powers, duties and assets of the Chippewa County Soldiers Relief Commission were transferred to the Department on April 1 1990.
