The Federally chartered Resource Advisory Committee provides recommendations to the Forest Service on the development and implementation of special projects on federal lands as authorized under the Secure Rural Schools Act and Community Self-Determination Act in Public Law 110-343 (SRS). RAC members service four-year terms(2017-2021), and 15 members are needed. 

 

As of June 21, 2017, the Act is not currently authorized through Congress; and the Forest Service is waiting on whether it will be renewed and Title II will be restarted, in the meantime the Forest Service would like to keep the Committee membership up to date.
