Poverty Exemptions, for those taxpayers that meet the criteria, can be granted by the local assessing district (township/city). Each township and city in the county have a poverty exemption policy which incorporates the federal poverty guidelines. Information regarding poverty exemption policies and applications for the exemption may be acquired by contacting the local assessing unit.
